INGREDIENTS
3cups boiled rice
1 cup tur dal (washed and soaked in 4 cups of water fr 2hrs)
2 onions chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
1 cup corriender chopped
1 cup mint leaves chopped
4 tbspn garlic chopped
4 tbspn green chillies chopped
2 tbspn gram flour (besan)
1 cup dhudhi diced
12 pcs of drumsticks
2 tbspn jeera powder
2 tbspn red chilly powder
2 tbspn haldi powder
2 tbspn ghee
2 tbspn oil
10-12 curry leaves
5-6 koakam
METHOD
Step1 - Take the dal in a vessel and bring it to boil,add haldi and salt, make sure you are checking it as the dal should not crush.when done drain the dal and keep the water and dal seprately.
Step2 - in a pan heat 1 tbspn ghee and 1 tbspn oil, add jeera and wen it crackels add in the curry leaves followed by garlic and chilles, saute and add 1 chopped onion and cook till onion is olmost golden.Add in the tomatoes,1 tbspn jeera powder, 1 tbspn dhania powder,1 tbspn red chilly powder,corriender and mint leaves, mix and saute till oil seprates.
Step3-Now add in the dal kernals and giv it a light mix.
Step4-Now in a high wall vessel layer boiled rice and dry masala dal, add 1 cup of boiling water over the last layer of rice,cover it with foil and let it simmer for 15-20 mins.
Step5-In a pan again follow step2, den add 2 tbspn of besan and cook while adding little by little dal stock.
Step6-Add in the dudhi and drumstick, cover n cook on low heat till dhudhi is cooked.
Step7-Add in tbe kokam.
Serve hot with layered rice n dal!!!!
